Core Efficacy
This medication increases blood flow to the corpora cavernosa of the penis by inhibiting phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), helping to improve erectile function. It requires sexual stimulation to be effective. Its effects can last up to 36 hours, classifying it as a "long-acting" ED treatment.
Dosage and Administration
- Take as needed: The recommended starting dose is 10mg (half a tablet), taken 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. Depending on individual response and tolerance, the dose can be adjusted to 20mg (one tablet) or 5mg (1/4 tablet).
- Note: The maximum dose within 24 hours should not exceed 20mg, and the tablet must be swallowed whole and not broken.
Special Notes
- This product is a prescription drug and must be purchased and used with a doctor's prescription;
- Avoid concurrent use with alcohol or potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (such as ketoconazole) to prevent enhanced side effects.
Contraindications and Precautions
1. Absolute Contraindications:
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to tadalafil or its excipients;
- Contraindicated in patients currently taking any form of nitrate medication (such as nitroglycerin) (may cause severe hypotension);
- Contraindicated in patients with severe cardiovascular disease (such as recent myocardial infarction or heart failure).
2. Patients requiring caution:
- Dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency;
- No dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients over 65 years of age, but should be performed under the guidance of a physician.
Common Adverse Reactions
Headache, indigestion, back pain/muscle pain, nasal congestion, etc., may occur, mostly mild to moderate, and usually subside within 48 hours; if severe symptoms such as sudden loss of vision/hearing or chest pain occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention.
